Experience The Ultimate Triathlon Holiday At Le Moulin De Pensol – Le Moulin De Pensol

Are you a passionate triathlete seeking the perfect getaway that combines exhilarating triathlon training with a serene and picturesque holiday for you and your loved ones? Look no further than Le Moulin de Pensol, where nature-loving athletes can immerse themselves in breathtaking surroundings, thrilling adventures, and unmatched hospitality. Located in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin, our high-quality self-catering and B&B accommodation is the ideal base for triathletes looking to explore, train, and unwind.

Run:  Off-road hiking trails lead literally from the back door of Le Moulin, which combined with quiet country roads allow you to run as far as your heart’s content through the hilly landscape. The Natural Park also offers multiple designated walking trails leading from A to B and several green routes (Voie Vertes) along, for example, disused railway tracks and which offer flatter terrain, stop-off points and drinking stops.

Bike: The Perigord-Limousin region is a hidden gem for cyclists offering a hilly terrain criss-crossed with hundreds of safe, quiet, almost traffic-free roads in excellent condition. You can easily rack up considerable amounts of metres climbed all while cycling through cool forests, scenic valleys and rolling hills often with bird song the only sound accompanying you. Occasional picturesque villages and small towns punctuate the landscape and offer that all-important coffee stop. If vertigo-inducing mountains are not for you, then this area will allow you to create routes as challenging or as easy as you like. In 2023 Le Tour de France is coming to little Pensol! Etape 8, Libourne-Limoges on July 8th 2023 clips the corner of the commune, and the excitement is already building!

Swim: The region is dotted with lakes, several of which lie within easy reach of Le Moulin have beaches and designated swimming areas and associated facilities. These swimming areas are safe and shallow and in summer months are supervised.

A holiday for everyone: If you are travelling with family members, non-triathletes, or just fancy a day off, the area offers much to see and do. Dogs are welcome.

Welcoming accommodation: Le Moulin de Pensol offers four gites – French holiday cottages – sleeping between two and seven people. Outside July and August the largest gite operates as a bed and breakfast, with three well appointed double rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Breakfasts, evening meals and packed lunches are available by appointment. Vegetarians and vegans are very welcome.

Local culture: There are many things to do for non-triathlete members of the family. Le Moulin is located on the circular walk known as the Santier du Bandiat which follows the route of the river Bandiat. There are local markets, châteaux, limestone caves and pretty, historical towns and villages to visit, plus local restaurants offering limousine and european cuisine.

The nearest airport is Limoges, just 45 minutes away. Car hire is available from the aiport or Le Moulin offers a pickup service for people and bikes. Bike hire is also available (although these are hybrid leisure bikes not road bikes.)

Angouleme train station offers a fast service to Paris on the TGV or you can catch the slower train to Limoges.
