Our four self-catering gîtes sit within a 20-acre rewilding project of meadows, woodland, ponds and riverbanks in the PNR Périgord-Limousin.
For professional ecologists accustomed to recording decline, it is a chance to remember what abundance looks and sounds like. Search for that elusive fritillary, listen for golden orioles, photograph lizards and dragonflies, or spend the morning poring over moth-trap egg boxes with a croissant in your hand. Artists and photographers will find more subjects than they could cover in a week—many within 200 metres of their gîte.
And nobody has to spend the entire holiday identifying micro-moths or being herded around in a hot minibus. Partners and families can enjoy quiet country walks, swimming lakes, markets and villages—or simply open a bottle of wine and let the wildlife come to them. Explore independently, at your own pace, and make the holiday as wildlife-filled—or as leisurely—as you wish.
