Le Moulin is our flagship gîte — and the most characterful building on the site.
This is the former mill building, the working heart of the old estate. The mill wheel once turned on the outside wall; the machinery is long gone, but the ancient millstone remains as the step up to our house next door. What’s left is a beautiful stone and beam building sitting directly on the River Bandiat, with a double-sided woodburner at its heart and a private outdoor seating area where you can watch the river go by.
Le Moulin sleeps up to seven guests across three en suite bedrooms, each with its own character.
Papillon is our largest room — a generous double bed, a single, and the luxury of a proper bath as well as a shower. Light and airy with lovely views.
Chevreuil has a beautiful double bed and an en suite shower room with a gorgeous outlook over the River Bandiat. Wake up to the sound of water.
Hirondelle sits quietly at the back of the building, away from everything. No river view, but surrounded by trees and exceptionally peaceful — perfect for anyone who values a good night’s sleep above all else.
Downstairs, a spacious kitchen and living room with the double-sided woodburner makes Le Moulin feel like a proper house rather than a holiday rental. A separate downstairs WC adds convenience for larger groups.
The private outdoor seating area just outside the front door sits right on the river — sunshades, garden furniture, and more birdsong than you can keep track of.
Please note: the garden area is bisected by our private access track and is not fully enclosed. Le Moulin is wonderful for families with older children and dog owners who are happy to keep an eye on their animals. Guests with toddlers or dogs who are likely to head for the river should be aware of this before booking — we want everyone to have a safe and relaxed stay.
Le Moulin sits within a small family-run estate of four gîtes sharing 8 hectares of rewilded Limousin countryside. You’ll have your own private space, and in summer the whole property comes alive with a lovely holiday atmosphere.
Free WiFi, bed linen and towels included. Cot and extra click-clack bed available on request. Dogs welcome at €10 per night per dog.
