Why take your dog on holiday with you?

Why take your dog on holiday with you? Anyone who has ever had to look into a pair of much-loved brown eyes and then walk away as you leave them behind in kennels will not need to ask that question! Much better to take them with you, if possible, on a dog friendly holiday instead.

Why Le Moulin de Pensol is the perfect place for Dog Friendly holidays in France

Le Moulin de Pensol is the perfect place to bring your dog on holiday. We have over 7 hectares of grounds to explore with your best friend, plus miles of dog friendly walks on the doorstep. That makes our gites the ideal place to stay for dog friendly holidays in France.

We have been delighted by how many dogs we have hosted in our first season. “Tina and Alan” were the smallest (though Tina had an out-sized personality to make up for her lack of stature), while the beautiful Bella the weimaraner who is with us at the moment, is at the larger end of the scale. Fortunately her manners are as impeccable as her pedigree.

We have dogs ourselves and have stayed with them in the gites when we first moved here. This gave us a useful perspective on how guests would find the facilities for dogs. For example on our first morning we opened up the doors to let our mob out for a morning wee and watched in some horror as they all disappeared into the woods and fields that surround the mill. We realised they had access to the whole of mainland Europe.

This has lead us to construct rustic, wooden fences which give each gite a self-contained garden area and a gate. This is also excellent for non dog owners who may not want their evening aperitif disturbed by the arrival of someone elses hound.

However one of my favourite comments came from a non dog lover who came to stay recently. He said in his review “It’s dog-friendly too so you can take your four-legged friend as well – although we’re not dog owners and you wouldn’t have known – it was extremely clean and fresh throughout.”

We are looking forward to welcoming even more two legged, and four legged guests in the future for dog friendly holidays in France. We’ve kept our prices the same – see https://lemoulindepensol.com/gites-and-bb/ for details, and dogs are €10 per night. Woof woof.
