Le Moulin – Historic Riverside Gîte for up to 7 Guests

Stay in the original 450-year-old mill building at Le Moulin de Pensol, surrounded by eight hectares of rewilded, nature-rich gardens and grounds in the Périgord-Limousin countryside.

With its exposed oak beams, thick stone walls and magnificent fireplace, Le Moulin is our largest and most characterful gîte. It is particularly well suited to families and groups of friends who enjoy spending time together.

The spacious ground floor has an enormous dining table, perfect for family meals, and a comfortable seating area with TV. A double-sided wood-burning stove can be enjoyed from both spaces. The compact but fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, and there is a convenient downstairs toilet.

Le Moulin is also an excellent choice for extended families or groups booking several of our gîtes together. Its generous living and dining space provides a welcoming place for everyone to gather, share meals and spend time together, while enjoying their own accommodation elsewhere on the property.

Upstairs are three bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The family bedroom, Papillon, has a double bed and a single bed, sleeping three, and a shower over a bath – particularly useful for families with children. The gîte accommodates up to seven guests in total.

Outside, guests have their own riverside seating area with new garden furniture and a large table for outdoor dining. Beyond this lie eight hectares of shared meadows, woodland, ponds and riverbanks, managed for wildlife. Butterflies, dragonflies and birds abound, and walking and cycling routes are accessible directly from the property.

Le Moulin is situated opposite our other gîtes, across the River Bandiat. We live in the adjoining part of the historic mill building, and our access crosses the garden. The gîte is close to the car park and benefits from excellent Wi-Fi.

Please note: All bedrooms are upstairs. The river and bridge are only a few metres from the entrance, with unfenced banks and a drop to the riverbed, so young children must be supervised outdoors. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, but the garden is not enclosed.

Le Moulin combines the character of a historic French mill with the opportunity to spend a holiday surrounded by wildlife.
