Bourdeilles

Bourdeilles is a charming town just over the border in the Dordogne. It is situated on the river Dronne, downstream of Brantome (also worth a visit.) Bourdeilles boasts two stunning chateaux - one built in the 13th century and the other built in the renaissance style in the 16th century. They sit together with the general jumble of old buildings all overlooking the river and make a beautiful place to explore.

There is a market every Sunday morning and some good restaurants.
