Jumilhac-Le-Grand

35 minutes away by car is the little town of Jumilhac-le-Grand which is dominated by the stunning chateau. The building started in 1159 and our friend Richard the Lionheart held the castle for some time. It evolved and was extended over the next 600 years and has remained in the same family since the 16th century. There are both day and night-time guided tours in the season and the gardens are laid out à la française. Click on the image to visit the castle website.
